Digital Collectibles: WWE on Panini, Sports Illustrated NFT Tickets on Avalanche

Sports Illustrated has decided to move its nonfungible token (NFT) ticketing platform called Box Office to the Avalanche network. This move is a result of a collaboration between Sports Illustrated’s ticketing arm, SI Tickets, and Avalanche’s developers, Ava Labs. By utilizing the Avalanche network, Box Office’s NFT tickets will now be created and stored on this blockchain. The CEO of SI Tickets, David Lane, believes that NFT ticketing will revolutionize the ticketing industry by offering more engagement opportunities for event owners and attendees.

Animoca Brands’ Mocaverse, KuCoin, and Halo have joined forces to streamline cross-platform identity in the Web3 space. They plan to combine Mocaverse’s nontransferable NFT digital identity called “Moca ID,” KuCoin’s user accounts, and Halo’s Genesis membership pass to make on-chain identity more efficient. This collaboration aims to address the challenges of accessing benefits across different Web3 sub-ecosystems and create a more seamless experience for users.

Panini, a collectible firm, has announced the launch of a digital card set called Donruss Elite on the Panini Blockchain. This card set will feature WWE superstars like John Cena, Steve Austin, and Roman Reigns. WWE has previously dabbled in the NFT space by releasing NFT collections in 2021, including exclusive benefits like front-row tickets to Wrestlemania. The introduction of digital cards on the Panini Blockchain further expands WWE’s presence in the NFT market.

Yuga Labs, an NFT company, has acquired Proof, the creators of notable NFT collections such as Moonbirds, Oddities, Mythics, and Grails. With this acquisition, Yuga Labs has gained not only Proof’s assets and intellectual property but also its team members. Kevin Rose, the founder and CEO of Proof, will now serve as an adviser to Yuga Labs. This partnership aims to strengthen Yuga Labs’ position in the NFT industry and further enhance their offerings to collectors.
