Blockchain for Good Alliance Launches in Dubai
The Blockchain for Good Alliance (BGA) has officially launched at the Blockchain Life Dubai event. The BGA is a collaborative network of organizations, projects, and individuals that are committed to using blockchain technology to address global social, environmental, and economic challenges. The alliance has partnered with various blockchain-based organizations, including Bybit Web3, Solana Foundation, Aptos, Moledao, Harvard Blockchain Club, ICP.Hub UAE, American University of Sharjah (AUS), Coineasy, Libera, Edu3Labs, Alchemy Pay, Bu Zhi DAO, and XueDAO. The BGA will serve as an incubator for blockchain technology, providing networking opportunities, mentorship, resources, and events.
The Harvard Blockchain Club, one of the alliance’s partners, expressed excitement about joining the BGA and supporting its impactful projects. The club aims to foster innovation and collaboration within the academic community through initiatives like establishing a blockchain publication repository. Moledao, a social platform on the blockchain, described the BGA as a pathway towards achieving mass adoption in a YouTube video.
Italian researcher Silvia Semenzin recently studied the concept of “blockchain for good” and highlighted that many initiatives in this space are driven by profit-seeking motives or lack an understanding of economic disparities. The BGA aims to operate as a non-profit organization, alleviating concerns typically associated with technology-based endeavors.
Lily Liu, President of the Solana Foundation, expressed her excitement about collaborating with the BGA, noting that it strengthens their commitment to harnessing blockchain for global benefit. She believes that the alliance will drive impactful change by bringing together its partners. Solana’s technology enables innovative public infrastructure projects and facilitates accessible cross-border remittances and new financial products, contributing to the creation of a more inclusive financial system.

Wow, another blockchain alliance? How many of these do we really need?
I highly doubt blockchain can actually solve global challenges. It’s just hype.
I’m tired of hearing about blockchain promises that never materialize.
Lily Liu’s enthusiasm about collaborating with the BGA is infectious! By harnessing blockchain for global benefit, they are paving the way for a more inclusive financial system. 💫💻
Non-profit doesn’t always mean effective or successful. 🚫
Profit-seeking motives are bound to ruin any good intentions of this alliance.
