X Introduces AI-Curated Advertiser Audiences

The business account of the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, now called ‘X,’ has announced a new feature for advertisers that utilizes artificial intelligence (AI). The platform revealed that its upcoming “AI Audience” feature will allow advertisers to describe their target audience and have X’s AI systems generate a list of the most relevant users within seconds. For example, if an advertiser specifies “Technology Leaders,” the AI will produce a list of hundreds of users fitting that description along with demographic statistics. X owner Elon Musk reposted this announcement without any additional comment.

One user in response to the post mentioned that this feature will be a game-changer for advertising, providing good value for money on the platform. They also questioned the accuracy of the AI in identifying target audiences. If the AI proves to be efficient over time, X could surpass other platforms that still require manual research for audience targeting. Some users expressed concerns about the AI perpetuating biases and stereotypes. Another user wondered what X is actually selling and to whom, raising the issue of user privacy and advertising practices.

Despite some skepticism, many users found this development exciting and intelligent. It is worth noting that this announcement aligns with Musk’s proactive stance on integrating AI into the social media platform. In March, Musk made his AI model Grok available to all premium X subscribers and announced a new version, Grok-1.5, equipped with enhanced reasoning capabilities. Musk also stated his intentions to open-source Grok amidst a lawsuit between him and OpenAI, an organization with which he was previously associated. While Musk’s AI company xAI is actively developing new tools, Musk denied reports in January claiming that xAI had secured $500 million of its $1 billion investment goal.

  2. Wow, this new AI Audience feature on X seems like a game-changer for advertisers! Can’t wait to try it out! 🚀🎯

  3. X needs to be more transparent about what exactly they are selling and to whom. Are they compromising user privacy for the sake of advertising practices?

  4. This whole AI Audience feature feels like a way for X to invade our privacy and bombard us with targeted ads. No thanks!

  5. Opening up AI tools to all premium X subscribers? So now it’s only available for those who can afford it? Way to create a divide, X.

  6. I wonder how accurate X’s AI will be in identifying target audiences. It’s a great concept, but I hope it doesn’t make too many mistakes. 🤞
